Thank you to everyone that came out to the limited run of ‘Suddenly Last Summer’ by Tennessee Williams presented at Sorry Studios and helped us sell out 5 out of 6 performances! Named one of Williams’ most poetic plays, ‘Suddenly Last Summer’ is a strange and unnerving Southern Gothic play that explores mental health, repressed desires, and the lengths a dysfunctional family will go to keep dark secrets hidden. Williams’ play uncovers the frightening and disturbing realities that can hide behind what is seemingly beautiful.

Under the direction of Kathleen Welch, Suddenly Last Summer featured an incredible ensemble cast featuring Lindsey Middleton, Elaine Lindo, Ryan Iwanicki, Carling Tedesco, Brendan Kinnon, Jobina Sitoh, and Shadan Rahbari.

For Opening Night “Carnivorous Garden Party” we sold bouquets and floral arrangements by  independent floral designer Audrey Clairman, drinks from local breweries, and visual art from local artisans like Ellyn O’Keefe, Claire Browne, and Cat Stambolic

Our visual artist market was presented throughout the entire run and we were so happy to create space for our community to grab a drink and check out the displays!

Sorry Studios is accessible for patrons that use a mobility device. It is located on the first floor of the building and has a small ramp up to the front door. There is not an accessible washroom, however it is large enough for most accessible devices. If you require assistance or if you use a mobility device, please email us in advance as we will organize the seating arrangement to accommodate your device.

We hosted a Relaxed Performance of the production on August 12th at 2:30PM. At this performance, we had limited tech - lowered volume on sound cues and no flashing/bright lights. We also slowed down fight choreography and allowed the audience to leave and re-enter the space as needed.

Warnings: This show deals with themes of mental health, sexual abuse, violence, and racism. We recommend the show to audience members 16+.

Each of these artist’s work intersect with the nature in some way and we hope that their work inspired our audience to think about the natural world and carry those themes into their experience of the play.
