A community clean up

At Riot King, our mission is simple: produce exciting, experimental, engaging arts and community events while building awareness, education, and action towards environmental justice! Our Earth Day 2023 Community Cleanup was such a great way to bring Toronto’s amazing arts community together to connect with peers, share ideas, and do something good for this beautiful lil' rock we call Earth. In this crazy digital world (and after nearly three years of digital events), we know how important it is to have opportunities for our community to come together, share space, and work towards a common goal.

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to our Community Cleanup of Taylor Creek Park on Earth Day! In just 2 short hours, we managed to pick up and sort so much garbage - including tons of single-use plastics, cigarette butts, paper, take out containers, lids, and other random garbage that got swept to the side. Looking at the areas we cleaned, I know all of the little critters will be very happy to have a nice clean home. But…there was so much garbage we left behind. So..

for the rest of the summer we will be meeting on the last Saturday of each month to keep picking up trash!

The next cleanup will be on June 24th from 10-12PM. No need to sign up - just arrive 10 minutes before the cleanup starts in the parking lot at the start of Taylor Creek Park (260 Dawes Rd, East York, ON).
